Why Should I Buy Electric?
Many people see an Electric Vehicle as a short range urban vehicle that they will never buy. But this is because they don't have all the information. Here is why an Electric car is far better than a traditional car:
Torque (Acceleration):
Did you know that electric motors have about the same torque at any speed? Thus the acceleration is much stronger in an electric car than in a normal one.
More space, comfort and security:
Electric motors are much smaller than combustion engines. There are cars already in design, that have four small electric engines located directly inside of the wheels, instead of a big one in the front or at the back. Imagine how much more interior space you'll enjoy! You'll have a four wheel drive car without all the mechanics they require today. It means also more security and comfort.
Fewer moving parts, fewer services required:
Are you aware of how many moving parts a traditional car has? There are hundreds. An Electric car is much, much simpler, it requires less mechanical parts and just a small fraction of the fluids than a normal car.
Quiet:
An Electric car is very quiet. It does not have any vibrations or noises. Do you live on a busy street? Can you sleep at night? Imagine if there would be only electric cars. You will be able to hear grasshoppers again!
Did I mention clean?:
There is no exhaust system required! Why? because there is no smoke! Next time you go downtown, just take a minute and breathe. Then, imagine if the cars the cars did not produce any smoke! Nice idea, isn't it?
Efficiency:
Normal combustion cars convert up to 80% of the fuel into heat and only 20% into real movement. An Electric car uses 80% of its power to move the vehicle and they are becoming more efficient on a daily basis.
Of course, better for the environment:
Perhaps this reason should be at the top, as this is the most common benefit known for electric vehicles. As the power stations used to generate the electricity are improved and the quota of renewable energy rises, the benefits of an electric vehicle increase by the day.
